I have a 2002 audi 1.8 t multitronic. recently i have found that the traction control light and the abs light comes on even if the road surface is fine and not under braking
Something happened to me today... I was driving my car and my trac control and abs were on.... I put my car in reverse and got out of a parking... And the traction control and abs went off... What could that be?
Ok your problem is that your brakes are under force you shold get new brake pads ok
I have the same issue as well and my brakes are good still only 1 1/2 years old and tires 1 year old. I have a mechanic that may not know how to fix it but here's the story. I have a Audi A6 2.7T 2001 Sports Pack and the traction control and ABS lights would come one when at high speeds or if i try to go fast at a stop light. The light would go away after i release the gas and do notice a slight power lose. This all started to happen when i got my car back from the mechanic, they originally tried to troubleshoot a coolant leak and they first thought it was the coolant pump which was replaced when i did the timing belt 2 and a half years ago. They removed the bumper and all to check the coolant pump but later said it was the Thermostat cover housing. When i got my car back these lights started coming on so i went back and he said it was the Master Air Flow sensor, so they replaced it but I still get these light coming on. I'm going back a third time but wanted to see if I can shed some light to them to help them troubleshoot the issue.
I'm not a car repair guy but if I had to guess it's something they didn't put back together right. The issue wasn't happening prior to me coming into their shop. And I don't want to keep paying for charges they think the problem is.

I have the same problem. I have 2001 A4 and the ABS and traction control lights come after driving a few miles. Is this truly indicative of low brake pads?
Can I diagnose this before changing the pads?
I have same prob but dont go off from starting had it tested and its a steering angle sensor.
