I'm trying to fix my Delco stereo on Chevy Malibu '99. When i bought this car the stereo was not even connected. So i connect it and it does not work and does not show anything. Only if i press hr, mn and recall buttons it shows time for a short period. Any ideas how to fix it? Thank you.

check fuses. did this happen all of the sudden? did you or someone recently change the stereo, reason I ask this is there is a continuous power wire that connects the factory stereo to the guage panel usually a yellow wire, and if it's no longer connected or incorrectly connected then that would cause your gauges not to work

is the CD one that you made yourself or is it store bought? Have you tried other CD's?

If the error message is displayed when other CD'd are tried as well than there is a problem with the CD player. You can try using a CD player cleaning kit. Its possible that the laser head is dirty.

There are two other options if cleaning does not work.
1. you can pull the stereo and send it in for repair or replace it.

2. you can install an aftermarket stereo (usually cheaper)

Somethings loose. Check the plug on the back. You may have to take it partially out to do so!

check for a mute button on the delco

check the wiring and connection to the bulb.
check the relay to which the turn signals are been conected.
check the fuse for particular system and if blown out replace it.

Sometimes you can press and hold down the CD's forward and backward track buttons or play and eject buttons to release the CD. Contact your Chevy dealer and ask a Service Consultant if the Delco unit has this feature.

is electric radiator fan coming on? if not the relay or fuse is bad

The sunroof oy my 1999 malibu will not close, the motor seems too want to work when i try and open it further but when i try and close it, it doesn't move.
