My trunk on my 1991 lexus wont open and in trying to open it the key part was pushed to hard and now i cant even get to it just have a hole where key used to be and trunk is still not open

lol open seat and climb through or if u have a wall inbetween back seats and trunk then take speaker out and use hanger if you cant reach

On that car there is a trunk pass-through in the center of the back seat. Pull it down and try to get some of the stuff out so the trunk can open. If you can't get any of the stuff out. Push down on the trunk hard a couple of times and reach your arm through the pass-through and push up on the trunk while someone pulls the trunk release. You can also reach in there and just try to maneuver some of the stuff around to get it from pressing up on the trunk.

The problem is with it being so full it is probably pressing up on it causing the latch to not be able to fully release. This is why pushing down on the trunk hard may help.

the steering lock soleniod has engaged because it does not recognise the chip in the key and you have to get it programmed to the car to make it work the because the security system thinks its being stolen

If you hear the sound of the electric latch switch, then it's working but stuck somehow. Just put the key in the switch and turn it to the right and then pull up the trunk or ask someone to help you. it will open. I tried it today and it opened with me. It was stuck from inside by some kind of a broken plastic pieces. Just removed it and now it's working fine. good luck

pull rear seat base -------push back hard and lift to unclip
then unbolt seat back and lift up ther should be holes in metal
spot your keys and fish them out

there is an emergency latch on the inside, only suggestion I have is to open your rear seats and try and open it from here, it may be sealed shut.

I work for a doctor and a patient just had this same problem. She had a extra fob in her trunk so we opened the trunk with the key and got her other fob but I am wondering why the key does not fit the lock on the driverside

Unlock the drivers door with the key

the mechanism is busted you have to get it replaced. you are slamming the trunk too hard!
