It takes some time sometimes for the fuel to come to the front.keep doing what you have mentioned.not too much fuel ,little at a time.it should start soon.
Try this, turn your key to the on position, hear the fuel pump hum? will omly hum for about 5 to 10 seconds. if you hear the hum the pumps good. try cycling the pump about 6times before you try starting it. in other words, turn key to 'on' for 6 times each time leave the key'on' for 10 seconds. this will prime your engine with fuel and releive the air or will push the air to your fuel rack. you may have to do this several times to get it back where it was when you ran out of gas. if this does'nt work repost your question and i'll take you on to the next level if you're mechanically inclined. thank you for choosing fixya.com
GM fuel pumps do not like to be run dry. It is very possible that you have burnt up the pump.
What you can try is smaking the middle of the gas tank with a rubber mallet while somebody cranks the engine over. If it starts replace the fuel pump immediately.
When the key is turned to the run position you should hear the fuel pump run for three to five seconds. If you cant here it it would further support the burnt up fuel pump.
