SOURCE: serious electrical problems wiv vw golf mk4 gti turbo yr 2000

I had a VW rabbit that developed mad electrical problems. It started when one day the headlights remained on and would not shut off. It turned out that a $2.00 gasket for the antenna wire had failed. This allowed road water from the wheel well to leak onto the fuse box. In time the fuse panel corroded and shorted out. I had to replace the fuse box twice and use rubber epoxy to seal the leak.
Check all fuses and electrical wiring for signs of shorts or corrosion.

SOURCE: computer saying oil press, stop motor , also the

Hi. well that light means that you have a low oil pressure probably because you have been using the regular conventional oil instead using syntetic oil thats what causes clogs inside the engine because this type of car uses syntetic oil so if i was wanting to fix that myself ill start by using an engine flush before every oil change (remember to use syntetic oil) and that might help but ill be wise to take it to a garage just to make sure it has oil pressure.

SOURCE: 12volt power socket in front of car doesn't work.

It is most likely the socket itself. Quite often I have seen corrosion build up and prevent it from conducting electricity. I would check behind the socked at the connections to see if there is power there. Or check at the breaker box for power at the fuse. Hope this helps!

Mk4 gti 1.8t cut out

it might be the e break sensor . ive heard of them causing shut downs . also check all fluid levels if your coolant is too low the sensor will shut it down lol. and i think theres a break light recall that might have something to do with it . take it in to vw if you have the means for a scan . of find someone in your area with a vag com . it can read the error codes from the computer . good luck
