My 1989 legacy will start, idle but it wont run properly. There are no fault codes coming up on dash. Is it the water temperature sensor?

hi this sounds like the throttle position sensor as these dont trigger an error code or engine light when they start to go, anything else like fuel pump or knock/cam sensors or relay will. secondly it could be a coil pack causing it to miss/**** quite a bit

I have a 1993 subaru Legacy that is out of time. I'm trying to find out how to find the markings to put it back into time

all marks align at noon, both lines on camshafts point up ,don't follow any marks on face of crankshaft gear follow line located on reluctor this is part of the crankshaft gear on back of it, the line on the reluctor needs to face noon and match a line on the oilpump where the crankshaft position sensor is installed good luck

Knock sensor 1999 Legacy 2.2

As far as there being no knock sensor on a 99 2.2 I beg to differ. I have a 99 legacy and just had a diagnostic done and mine is bad. If there is no knock sensor why would it say it was bad and why does Auto Zone, Advanced Auto and my local Subaru dealer sell them. Mine is located under the throttel body and they are rather hard to get to. No offence to who ever said ther is no knock sensor but maby you should recheck your information becuse I know there is a knock sensor since I just changed mine.
