Check your brake fluid if low have your brakes checked. The brake ligh on the dash stays on if fluid is low or if there is a pressure differential (leak).
Check your emergency brake. Make sure it isn't partially pressed in. Try unplugging the switch to the emergency brake and see if the light goes out; if it does the switch is bad.
if brakes work ok leave well alone ,this sounds like an electrical fault that big money to repair.At the end of the day the brakes are failsafe manually operated
