The battery died in my 2004 Lincoln Navigator. When I replaced it with a new battery, and then tried to start the car, the car continues to try to start itself, and will not stop, even when you take the key out, the car continues to try to start itself, and will not stop until you disconnect the battery. PLEASE HELP!

Any DTC Codes?
Did you disconnect the battery lately?
Is the Security Light flashing?
Do you have fuel pressure?
Check for spark?

battery draining at rest. check for drain turn off all accessories. disconnect ground. attach a testlight in the bridge between battery and ground cable. if the test light glows start removing fuses one at a time until the light goes off. replace each fuse that doesnt quelch light immediately. when you quelch the light you have a circuit to inspect thsat is draining the battery
I had this problem last year with my LincolnI. I took it in and for 200 bucks I had to replace a wire that went out of my air suspension. Right after that it drove smooth again.
was it a new or used battery if it was used it might not have enough juice if it was new then u check the battery terminals an wires running to the starter red poss cable an a ground (blk)
Replace the coil pack once more. I went through 2 new ones on my f150 on one cylinder. One worked, the other didn't (both new off the shelf). Condensation build up in the boot caused mine to misfire. Anytime you replace a coil pack, squirt a little silicone grease inside. This will prevent condensation from hitting your plug. Fords are notorius for this problem, especially if you live in a humid area. Also, make sure and clear the codes after you make the repair.
