SOURCE: problems with clutch master cylinder on a suzuki

I too am having problems with my 2006 GV clutch master cylinder. I noticed gradually over several weeks the gears and clutch pedal were degenerating and then the cluth gave completely. My mechanic took a look around and said the cylinder is the cheapest one he has ever seen, it's just a piece of plastic apparently! Is going to hopefully get the part this week or next, though he said as it's such a cheap and nasty part its likely it will happen again in the future. Not happy!

SOURCE: mazda rx 7 rebuilt kit clutch master cylinder.

crack the bleeder nipple on the slave cyl and get some one to slowly push the pedal see if any fluid shoots out if not you may have killed the new seal in the master cyl.
it sounds like you did every thing right its just that old cylinders get were in them and if you don't hone them out and put a new sleeve in them quite often you will rip the new seal apart on the first pump of the pedal.
any way check for presser and let me no

SOURCE: ford focus st170 clutch master cylinder

To replace the clutch master, you must remove the under hood fuse box and air filter housing assm, then remove the hydraulic line that goes into the inlet port of the clutch master, then inside the car, remove the hush panel/knee bolster panel from under the steering column, and loosen the boilts that retain the brake pedal to the firewall, then remove the two 10mm bolts that secure the clutch master to the brake pedal assm. Reverse procedure ti install, then fill the brake master cylinder with clean fluid, loosen the bleeder screw at the top of the trans, and bleed the clutch as you would the regular brake system, but never pump the pedal, tighten screw, with foot off of clutch pedal open screw and press pedal to floor, then tighten screw before you release pedal, then release pedal loosen screw, etc. until no more air comes out, it may take quite a few times to fully bleed the system.

SOURCE: how do i bleed the master clutch cylinder system on a 1995 jeep ?

A special pump is used to back bleed the system. If you don't own one then you have to be patient and just keep pumping the clutch pedal until it comes back. It can take a half hour to get it back. Just depents on how much air is inside.

Is there a place to add transmission fluid to a 2002 kia sport age clutch, mine is slipping

no transmission fluid in a clutch system
only brake fluid
and that is in the reservoir at the top of the clutch master cylinder or shared with the brake master cylinder
if the clutch is slipping it indicates the need to replace the clutch master cylinder or tor replace the clutch assembly
Clutch master cylinder is cheaper and easier and is generally the main reason for slipping clutches unless you have a cable clutch in which case replace the cable

Clutch feels loose,no pressure. gears are stuck, shifter wont moveis it the clutch adjustment?

The Clutch Master Cylinder or the Clutch Slave Cylinder has a leak. From under the dashboard, located the Clutch Master Cyliner Boot and pry one side open. If hydraulic fluid drips out, the piston seal(s) in the cylinder are worn. You'll need to replace the cylinder.

Where is the clutch auto adjustment located at on a 98 manual Volkswagen jetta?

you most likely have a hydraulic clutch, which the clutch master cylinder is located on the firewall on the driverside close to your drivers side windsheild.it takes brake fluid to fill dot brake fluid will fill it properly. however if your slave cylinder on the transmission is leaking, this will require a replacement of the clutch slave cylinder. look for leakage under passenger side,,just under or below passenger side seat onto ground. recommend if you replace the clutch slave cylinder, you also replace clutch master cylinder located on the drivers side firewall at wind sheild.look under the car while someone pumps the clutch in and out,if you see brake fluid leaking under car onto ground or inside onto carpet at brake pedal, you have a bad clutch master cylinder. recommend you replace both slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder. this will save you lots of time and headaches. thank you for choosing fixya.com

My clutch seems to have gone out tonight. The clutch is very easy to push to the floor...and it pops back....there's no pressure at all. The clutch fluid is leaking from the hose. Could this be the...

it could be either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder,it could also be the clutch pressure plate check the master & slave cylinders first because if it's the pressure plate the gear box will have to be removed to replace the pressure plate, even if you are uncertain it is most likely cheaper to replace the master & slave cylinders than it would be to replace the pressure plate.....hope this helps......cheers.

No, you don't need to replace the clutch itself.
Don't be surprised if the slave cylinder replacement doesn't fix it.
Could be the master cylinder.

My 1994 ford rangers clutch pedal just lost all pedal

There are two types of clutch actuators. (Mechanical & Hydtraulic)
A. For mechanical type,- Check the clutch cable as
this could be cut from wear and tear. This is easy
to replace. You can find this connected to the
pedal and the clutch lever near the transmission.
B.For hydraulic operated - Check the level of the
hydraulic oil at the cylinder of the hydraulic
actuator under the hood. This actuator is
directly connected to the pushrod driven by the
pedal. If the actuator is leaking, you have buy
a repair kit (Hyraulic clutch repair kit for Ford
Ranger 1994 MOdel.) These items must be
repaired to activate your pedal.

Clutch pedal goes to floor

Its sounds like a bad clutch cylinder or bad slave cylinder or fluid leaking. First check brake fluid level in clutch master , and check for a leak in clutch system. If there are NO leaks, then you either have a bad clutch cylinder or a slave cylinder. Bleed clutch at bleeder screw on slave cylinder and make sure there is pressure from master cylinder. If there is pressure then slave cylinder may be bad replace slave and bleed and that should take care of you problem. If master is bad then replace bleed system ad you should be good.
