This indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. It means a very small leak has been detected. In fact, the leak can be from a hole as small as 0.04" in diameter. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine

My 2003 buick century custom has dashboard lights on--how to reset Service Vehicle Soon, Trak light off, Abs light?

You need to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes to see what the problem is ,then diagnosed , then fixed ! Then the light's will go off ! This means taking it to a qualified repair shop .
SERVICE VEHICLE SOON
The IPC illuminates the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON message in the DIC when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects certain malfunctions that are not related to the emissions system. The IPC receives a class 2 message requesting illumination from the PCM.

I have a 1995 Buick century, I went in for emissions and it failed due to a monoxide problem. What can I do to fix it?

Assuming you don't work on your own vehicles,
then a repair shop is the answer

The internet has all the info you need

You study vehicle exhaust emissions & the 5 gases
The answer as to how to correct them, is there

You never go to inspection first

You work on the vehicle first, then go

How do you replace 98 Buick century evap emission control system

If you are getting a code saying that there is a problem with your evaporative emission control system, it is often related to the gas cap. In many cases replacing the gas cap will fix the problem.

I am getting P0440 EVAP Control System Malfunction for my Buick Century 1999 and need to know how to fix it thanks

A code P0440 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
  • The gas cap is not installed or working properly
  • The purge solenoid has failed
  • The canister is plugged and not working properly

Possible Solutions: with a P0440 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
  • Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the code, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
  • Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses
  • Inspect for damaged or disconnected hoses around the Evap purge solenoid
  • Check and/or replace the sensor
  • Check and/or replace the purge valve
  • Have a professional use a smoke machine to detect leaks

1996 buick century, I had a tune up and egr valve

Have an auto parts store check for the code. It is possible that you have a bad O2 sensor or your catalytic converter is clogged.

2003 Buick Century Custom and the Service Engine Soon Light

You will need to have a reputable mechanic do a diagnostic check on the car to determine the problem. This should pull up a code number in your car's computer and help point the mechanic and you in the direction of the malfunctioning part/s.

Just today, I had a diagnostic check done on mine for nearly $45.00. The mechanic was able to figure out the reason why my service engine light was staying on. I knew my car's radiator fans failed to run when car's engine was hot except when the A/C was running. I had changed out the sensors and was never able to get the light to go out or get the fans working. They were able to determine that the 25 amp fuse for the fans located under the hood was blown. After replacing it, the fans worked as they should, my car runs cooler and the engine service engine light is now out. Of course there are many possible reasons why the service engine light may come on including problems with the car's emissions. A reputable mechanic can solve your problem.

96 Buick Century can't pass imisions code P1441

P1441, EVAP Emissions System Flow During Non-Purge.
you seem to have an evap problem these problems are hard to diagnose sometimes it can only be the gas cap or maybe rust around the seat of the gaz cap
get the code erase and see if it comes back on and if it does check gas cap and arroung the filling neck if there is rust if no visible rust apears you will have to get it check with smoke to see where it leaks

hope it will help you

Have a great day
