Are there any DIY tips my driver door will not close the middle latch in down on my driver door it's stuck in the up position. can I get tips to fix that

Power locks unlock
with flathead screwdriver pry up on closed center latch in the door that latches over the jamb peg and locks over the peg It will pop up to the open position so when you close it it will latch over the peg. Maybe hard to pry up.

Hope this helps Mike

How can I open a Chevy door latch which is closed while the door is open

that would happen to me and my sisters almost regularly when I was younger. Simply pull the greasy latch open with your finger while operating the door latch that would normally open the door. If its too tough for a finger, which it should not be and never was for me then you could use a screwdriver to pry it, but obviously nothing will happen if you do not pull the door latch at the same time.

Cougar4lifcant get my door to close Ive tryed everything the latch is stuck. How do I get the latch to open.

With a decent scrwdriver lightly pry on it and pull on the door handle. This will release the mechanism so you can pop it back into the open position. If you accidently shut the door with the door latch closed you may have to be forceful with it. I have had to do this before with cars that have sat for a while or had frozen in severe weather. Make sure the door is not locked while you are trying to get the latch unstuck.

Hope this helps... Dale

Give the locking "jaws" a good dose of WD-40 and start with a pair of pliers ans working the door handle get the "jaws" moving and work it a lot while keep dousing it with the lubricant. Worst case scenario would be that the spring that opens the jaws is broken and will need replaced. Please rate this answer, thanks.

We live in a cold state (MN) and this year though it hasn't been incredibly cold our 2000 Kia Sephia constantly freezes shut. The power door lock on the driver side won't move from the inside or the...

part of the problem with being in such a cold place is even tho its so cold there is still moisture in the air. if you door wont close or open, you need to check the latch out and make sure its not just bent. as for not being able to unlock you door. the latching system is connected to the lock and handle. if the latch wont move don't use wd-40 that will make it worse. you need to pull open the door panel and get it greased with a grease gun. wd-40 will not keep the parts moving in that kind of cold. if latch wont reset
when you get it open, it wont close. just grease it up. oh it would help if you get water guard for your windows. protect you parts from freezing. take care.

Can't get door open

wiring connections or lock latch frozen --to manually bypass latch or to unlock rear hatch -- in the bottom of door panel is a round access hole remove cover just clipped into place using a flashlight and a screw driver about 3 inches in on bottom is the lock latch and window lock latch connections if u pull back on the inner latch u will unlock the hatch which will allow u to open it[ when opened check the wiring connections for corrosion or damage if good ] now u can remove the whole hatch panel and check the latches and actuator the actuator and latches, and rod clips sometimes need to be lubed or sometimes the clips break or disconnect clips can be purchased at any auto store panel is clipped into place carefully pry from a corner and using a screw driver or panel tool pry straight back till panel clip pops replacement of panel put clips in place and push in panel
