My sister has a 2000 ZX2 that just lost the dash lights, are there any common switch problems on these cars. It is equiped with driving lights, just for additional information. The multifunction switch appears to be working fine.

These cars have a LKM light control module know for failure. Tons of relays and brain boxes also common failures. You need a BMW expert, and maybe someone here knows more.

current for tail lights and dash lights is coming from headlight switch Brown wire.
Don't forget the ground. or common ground

are there any codes on other then the overdrive. I had a few in my shop with a common distributor problems

CHECK THE CRASCH SENSOR , IT TURNS OFF THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC, COMMON FAULT . CHECK THE TIMING BELT

Could be a ground problem , do you know about automotive electrical circuit's ? Has a B+ voltage side an a ground side to compleat the circuit back to the negative side of the Battery ? Looking at wiring diagrams for the affected system's i see they share a common ground point . G 201 ,do you know about body grounds ? I would look for a loose connection . G201

Just check the fuse box for busted fuses. They are properly labelled as headlights, park lights, etc..
Also check the wirings for short circuited lines. Further-
more check the bulbs, if these are still ok.

It should stay on for about 30 seconds and go off. Otherwise, the car is 11 years old, so find a switch position which does not drain the battery.

Your problem is in the front axle.The actuator is no longer working it also is a common problem....

The door ajar/courtesy light switch that is mounted to the door latch inside the door is sticking, this is a very common issue with all late model Fords from 90's up.

I have a 2003 Ford ZX2, and I think I had the same problem before, I think it is a fuse somewhere. I believe that the breaklights and dash lights are connected. My dad is a mechanic and I will check with him.
