I have a 1999 Volvo s80 2.9 n/turbo. recently the brake lights stopped working, although the third light located in the back window is still working. I have changed bulbs, I have changed the brake switch that's located at the brake pedal, and still the brake lights don't work. Could it be a relay?, if so, how would I locate the right relay? There are a number of them, ( 8 or 12 or so ), in the trunk.

fuse or relay are all the wires correct at the bulb clusters make sure these are fitted correct and the bulbs are the correct type either single or double pole bulbs
the boost preasure sensor is located on rear of the cooling fan housing at rear of engine near air box, theres a turbo control valve and its located on the top of the engine in the back near air box, you can say its behind the driverside head light in engine compartment. hope this helps.
if no brake lights are working, not even the high stop light in the rear window,And you have checked the brake lights fuse with a test light,it will be time to check the stop light switch located on brake pedal under dash.
I think there is a fuse for that in your fuse panel. check your owners manual for the location of the fuses and I think it may be burnt out. Cheap fix if so :)
Having the sa but haven't replaces the brake switch. The owner's manual for my 99 accord indicates the the fuse is located behind a panel that is viewable when you open the door on the driver's side. There is a panel that you remove (pull off) to expose the fuses. The brake light fuse is the third one from the top on the left. 7.5 A
