Sounds like a wire was broken by the belt somehow. You have some fuseable links and large fuses that power the components on the car. I would look around for a loose wire close to the belt side of the engine, and check the fuses for power.
You haven't flooded the engine correct, check the spark plugs. Also, how fresh is the gas? Try shaking the car to get the gas mixed up and try cleaning out the cylinders with a torch to blow out excess gas. You should also either try cleaning the spark plugs or replace them if they look bad. It is starting up fine, correct? The alternator is good, right? I believe it is since it sounds like you didn't drive it long enough to drain the battery but check it anyway. By losing power, did the electronics start shutting off first or did the engine die first as this would show whether the alternator is bad or not. Please answer my questions and get back to me on what shut off first when it died and I will help you narrow down the problem with this car.
If it has a manual transmission, check the clutch start switch on the clutch pedal support. If it has an automatic transmission it could be the transmission range sensor mounted on top of the transmission right side of the engine. In either case it could be the ignition switch (this is the switch you put the key in to start the car).
CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE ITS SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF YES.I AM LOOKING AT BAD GROUND BATTERY CABLE OR LOOSE CORRODED BATTERY CABLES.REPLACE THEM IF THEY ORIGINALS CABLES.TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE REMOVING BATTERY CABLES.IF BATTERY AND CABLES GOOD.CHECK IGNITION POWER FUSES AND ALTERNATOR FUSE.IF ALL LOOK GOOD.YOUR ALTERNATOR COULD BE BAD OR A OPEN IN IGNITION SWITCH COULD BROKE OR LOOSE WIRE IN SWITCH.
to clear the codes, just disconnect the battery (negative) & hold the brake a few seconds, just to drain all power. Hook up the battery. To do a retest for emissions though - 1st drive it about 40 miles or it will fail again saying the computer isn't functioning right or something. This is what happened to me anyway & still had to pay for another test. Hope this helps.
sure the hose could be leaking, these are the kind of problems that arise in the auotmotive feild of repairs. take a can of brake clean mabey two and clean the area of good , let it run to find your leak rember make sure the fluid is full and overfluid good luck kdc744
Is the coil pack working at all? It could just be a simple ignition ground gone bad, or even a power wire corroded to badly. Also, clean the connections between the plugs and wires, and also the coil pack and wires.
