First I have to know if it is a 6cyl or 4 cyl? If it is 6 cylinder then the dipstick is on the right side looking at the engine from the front. (figure 0-13). In(figure 0-10) in this link:
The oil fill is on the left side of the engine, and may either be a screw in or a plug type (though all the "official" parts depts. swear it is a screw in.
If it is a 4 cylinder, then I suggest you visit the myisuzuparts site to find the right places. I am sure you can purchase a new owner's manual there too.

Where to check tranny fluid, cant find dipstick??

1999 Isuzu Troopers w/automatic transmissions do not come with a dipstick. It is a sealed transmission just like a manual transmission. The fluid must be checked by removing the fill plug. Emergency brake on, engine running, warmed up ,vehicle in neutral. When removing the fill plug ,which is on the side of transmission- at the top, fluid should slightly drip out. If fluid doesnt drip out you need to add fluid. You will need a small hand pump to fill it.

How do i check/add transmission fluid in my 1991 trooper II?

Similar to the oil dipstick, there is another in the back of the engine, it is coming from the transmission. Usually there handle is painted RED, but that can vary...

Once you locate this, you'll want to have the engine running for about 15 minutes in order to get a correct reading at the reccomended operating temperature,

Remove the Transmission dipstick from the tube and wipe it off with a cloth, paper towel, etc...
Reinsert it in the tube and seat it before removing it again and veryify the level is in the correct range... (Usually noted on the dipstick.)

Not all, but most vehicle manufacturers reccomend checking this while the vehicle is in neutral, so be sure to have the parking brake on and be careful with any loose clothing or shirt sleeves as you dont want to get caught up in a rotating fan...

The tube in which you find the Transmission dipstick, is also the location you will need to add any new fluid through... You'll need a transmission fluid funnel... If you dont know which is which, simply ask to verify this at the part store...

BTW, You could simply drive to a part store such as Napa, Oreillys, Autozone, Shucks, or whatever is available in your neighborhood and ask someone there to help you locate it... as well as the correct fluid...

Hopefully you will find something of use in this.

Good Luck and Happy Motoring...

How can i put transmission oil in a izuzu trooper

At transmission pan, there will be two drain plugs, the up most drain plug is where you fill it and check level, to check level, with engine running and in park, unscrew up most plug on transmission pan, if fluid come's out, level is good, if no fluid come's out need to add transmission fluid in that drain plug.

Transmission slipping and light is blinking

check the trans. fluid level. the procedure should be in your owners manual. if you cant find the procedure, a good default is to have it in neutral on a level surface with the parking brake on with the engine running. find the dipstick with "trans" or an icon of a gear on it. if it's low, add fluid. when you add fluid, add about a half a quart at a time. and after every time you add, get in, put your foot on the brake and shift back and forth from park to reverse to neutral, to drive a few times, slowly. if you're unsure of what type of fluid to use, ask the boys at the parts counter. if your fluid is not pink/clear red, you're in trouble. if it's brown, dirty, or has flakes in it, your trans is junk.

Cannot find the transmission fluid port to add fluid.

Hi Clark,

The Transmission Fluid goes in the tube that houses the transmission fluid level dipstick.

I know, looking at the tube, it sounds insane. A long narrow funnel made specifically for this purpose is sold at auto parts stores.

Mike

How to fill transmission fluid 1999 isuzu rodeo ls

Lee2fixit doesn't know what he talks about on 99 Rodeos.

There is no dipstick tube - there are two access holes on the side of the transmission. The bottom one is to drain it out. The top one is to fill it back up. It is full when the fluid comes up to the bottom of the top hole.

Or you can take it to a dealer or service center to have it done.
