Can not find witch harness fuel pump fuse is in

When the fuel pump is replaced, often the correct wiring harness needs to be spliced in. The original wiring harness was more than likely reused. It is very possible the wiring harness is the cause for the short. Other than that, check where the wires go from the fuel pump wiring harness to the connection to where they go back inside the car. Corrosion is often another problem.

the fuel pump relay is number xvii 17in the Porsche technical manual in other way it is 3rd from right on the top row of you fuse box.
And fuse number 22 is also for fuel pump.

I would disconnect the fuel pump harness at the pump and turn the key on. If the fuse blows, look for damage to the wiring harness and under the hood for any signs of heat to the power distribution box at the fuel pump fuse. Let me know what you find.

So as I understand it the fuse only blew after a fuel pump job.

There is a TSB on repeated fuel pump failures with these trucks. The fix is to also replace the harness connector that plugs into the tank harness.

Unplg the harness and inspect it before you turn the key again if you suspect this.

You could have a short in the wire harness to the fuel pump or the fuel pump it self is bad or the relay has gone bad also. Start with the replacement of the fuel pump relay and also find the wire harness to the fuel pump sending unit from the frame to the gas tank and disconnect the connections. If the fuse does not blow when the connection to the fuel pump is disconnected, then it's a go chance that it's the fuel pump. If the fuse blows and the wire harness is disconnected, then the problem is towards the fuel pump relay and fuse block. check the fuse and relay for the fuel pump in the engine compartment fuse box near the battery... as well as the fuel shut off switch in the back (trunk) part of the vehicle

Check the wiring harness for a live>ground fault
maybe the live to the pump(s) rubbed hard against the chassis somewhere.disconnect the harness from the pumps along the chassis rail somewhere and put a fuse in again. keep following the harness back and disconnecting til the fuse sts good. U may need 3-4 fuses. at some point you sould locate the section where the live is grounding. be patient it may take a while to locate. be optimistic - it may only take a minute!
