Check your fuse box for a burnt out fuse.
Lots of times newer cars that didn't come with a cigarette lighter wont support one.
Every time I insert a cig lighter into my outlet, it blows the fuse. So be sure your car supports it.
Could just be a fuse that needs to be replaced to fix your problem. Most newer GM cars have the fuse box hidden in the trunk somewhere.
