i think it's the starter. On most nissans, the starter and the crank position sensor are close to each other. Some nissans have 4 position sensors, between crank sensor, crank angle sensor, cam position sensor, and sensor sensing sensor, oh and cam angle sensor. Oh wait, maybe it's a bad ground. Nope, gotta be the staerter.
Crank case sensor? Sorry, I don't think I've ever heard of one. Crank position sensor? (Prob top of the bell housing directly behind the cylinder head, 10 mm headed bolt holds the shield and the sensor in place, but is only used when trouble shooting misfires.)
To replace crank angle sensor .
1.you will need to remove drive belt
2.remove harmonic balancer to get to crank angle sensor
3.remove crank angle sensor
then do these steps in reverse to reassembly
The cam and crank position sensor can be found in the front of the crank on the
engine block below or next to the water pump in many applications. It
can also be located on the main crank pully or the flywheel.
If you have the type of crank angle sensor shown in the image, then it will be located on the bell-housing towards the top of the bell-housing and usually on the drivers side. Dis-connect the faulty crank angle sensor and then un-bolt the two bolts that secure the crank angle sensor to the bell-housing and then remove the sensor. The best access to the crank angle sensor is from under the vehicle.
The crank sensor is always located next to the crankshaftpulley. it will be inserted into the block with the top part of the housing half way out. you cant miss the wires leading into the tip of the housing next to the crank shaft pulley.
Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor. It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for.
