Central locking on discovery 3 not working. Landrover Dealer can't find fault. Replaced reciever, still not working. Absolutely no connection between both keys and car. Keys re-programmed, still not working? Central locking using push buttons inside car are working. Any advice? Seen this fault before?
You need to check continuity of the wires between the passenger fusebox in the footwell and the receiver in the hoodlining. The wires sometimes rub through or stretch and the best way to fix it is to run new wires. Its a very tedious job though, get your dealer to do it.You need to check continuity of the wires between the passenger fusebox in the footwell and the receiver in the hoodlining. This can be due to the possible reasons as follows:
1. Fault in the door switch , rocker switch contact being faulty.
2.Fault in the wiring harness that has snapped at the door hinges section.
3. Fault in the winding motor., remove and check for forward backward movement.
4. Mechanical jamming of the winder, remove and reset if there is tightness in the glass channel.
5.Fault in the electronic circuit/ load trip off circuit.
it sound like a broken door latch there is a spring inside which breaks you used to have to replace the whole latch but i think there are repair kits available from some independant parts specialists.
Do you have the EKA code, if you do, then activate that code, info should be in the service/maintenence book.
If not, then you have to go to the dealer to check and reset the alarm system
Suggests either Wheel Bearing, ABS Sensor Fault, or Shuttle valve. Best
to get it to a dealer and on the computer for them to diagnose what
exactly is wrong.
No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing
the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do
the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be
replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you
have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.
a housing gasket is causing the antifreeze leak thats not a big problem to repair ,but the dash light are another issue and without the right connection cable and software programme to sort out the lights i would suggest the main dealer .
