The clattering is most likely valves rattling until the oil gets up to top of engine, recommend change the oil and filter, use a good filter like fram oil filter,i've always used castrol 30 weight oil in winter, then summer 40 weight, also recommend you add lucas oil treatment,1 bottle, add with your oil change for top end lubrication, the oil stays and clings onto valves and adds a whole lot more of top end lubrication to your engine than just regular oil.it's just a treatment,i have a 1994 ford explorer with 450.000 miles on it.just trying to see how far i can go with original motor.but i always use castrol oil, fram oil filter and always add lucas oil treatment every time i change my oil.thank you for choosing fixya.com good luck!

Ticking noise in morning it goes away after 2-3 min when the engine warmed up 2004 Mercedes s500 51,200 mileage.

Doesnt sound like anything too serious. When was the last oil change? Sounds like the anti backflow in the oil filter could be leaking off giving you a dry start, or if it has hydraulic lifters they are leaking off and they will clatter until they are pumped back up.

Rocker arm, 69--327--hydraulic lifters
Engine running, loosen of rocker arm until it starts to clatter, turn rocker arm nut down slowly until clatter stops, that should be zero lash position. Then turn nut a 1/4 turn pause 10 seconds. repeat until nut has been turned the number of turns specified in chart, one complete turn according to specs.

What can be the solution for my pajero gdi 3500 model 2000 does not engage the gear early morning?

Transmission fluid is on te base of the engine all settle up. Once the oil runs all over the transmission will work easily. I would make check and refill the oil on the transmission.
Until then, start ur engine and let it warm and pump for a minute until all the oil is washing all over and then go.

-sorry for my English but i hope that helps.

1996 vortec 5.7. how do I adjust rocker arms when the motor is cold?

these are adjusted the same way 5.7 litre motors have been adjusted since GM started making this size of motor. with every thing in place tighten rocker nuts down until about 1/16" threads is protruding above nut. once the car starts allow the engine pressure to build and oil is squirting around rockers. then with engine running tighten down rockers that are noisy until the noise has just gone. then back off nut until it starts to clatter then tighten 3/4 of a turn. repeat to all the other rockers and your done.

Engine clattering

Sounds like you got a bearing or push rod going out. Does it make a tickining sound. That could be a lifter. But if engine is makeing a metalic clattering sound, its about to let loose..
