Dodge Ram 1500

My truck would not start after I stopped at the gas station. A red flashing light came on in the dash. I tried to jump start it but the engine would not turn over.

    04 Ram 1500 Hemi (60,000 mi) drove fine all day and always fires right up. After 45 minutes in the driveway it won't start. Interior lights are flashing, red light flashing on the dash, dash lights flashing, cd player laboring, power windows laboring. All of this settles after a short while. Turning key results in power drain similar to dead battery. Battery tests o.k. at 12.7. Jump start not effective with cables or power pack. Something "clicks" about every second when trying to jumpstart (solenoid?). Frozen starter?-wouldn't drain battery...

    my truck just wouldnt turn over when i turned the ignition. nothing unusual on the dash or underhood (fuses). i dont know why or what but need to get this thing started

try cleaning the battery terminals first...after that you may need to jump start vehicle...if it runs remove the red power cable-if it stops you have an alternator out..if not replace battery.

That must be the security system. Check your owner's manual for a reset procedure. Most people will tell you your best bet is the dealership-only they have the electronic testing equipment and expertise to work on factory installed security, especially so if any reprogramming is required. I don't know if that's the case, the owner's manual may shed some light.

2000 dodge ram 1500 clicking and wont start batery is good, starter is good, lights are on dash as normal, still wont start, keeps on clicking
get a jump, take it to Auto Zone or other parts store, have them run a free diagnostic on the battery, and the alternator. My bet is that it's one of the two that needs replacement.

03 Ram 1500 E-Brake light flashing
its possible the switch on the e/brake unit broke, take a flashlight and locate a single/double wire that goes to the e/brake assembly (this is the piece you depress with your left foot) and look to see if the wire is broken or the switch the wire goes to is broken.

It's the battery same thing happened with my truck. I changed the battery and the problem was corrected.
