I lost the keyless remotes for a 1994 xj6. The battery died. Have charged the the battery. The Alarm activates as soon as the battery is connected. Turning the security switch in the off position and door locks off and on, nor connecting battery with ignition in on position will disarm battery.. have been advised that the security ecu is failing....any alternatives???

same as mine just put key in ignition and start it ands alarm will go off .i put mine down to the fact that its a show car so its left in garage with battery disconnected .

need to run a scan on it

Get a professional to de-activate alarm or do a Google search for keyless entry remotes.

Same here... I have a 1998 Toyota Avalon XL. My car battery died. Replaced my car battery, but found out that when you unplug and plug the car battery with this car it engages in security mode (I have factory car alarm). This disables the engine and wont let you turn the ignition aka start the car engine until the remote (keyless entry) "UNLOCK" is applied. My remote is also lost so I cannot disable the alarm.
The only thing I can think of to do is unplug the battery again to disable everything (car alarms are annoying...) and call the dealer to pick the car up and perform the diagnosis. Most likely they will offer you another keyless (ugh... expensive) and/or you could ask to disable the factory car alarm.
I know thats not much help but it seems to be the only option from what I researched currently....

some alarms have kill switches, but most of them prevent the car from even starting. i would consider strongly getting the remote for the alarm or Completely disconnect the alarm module.

is the alarm after market ? and is so you need to replace it with another after market one .. now if the alarm is factory ?...you will need a remote control from the dealer and they will reprogram it for you

you have a battery power drain.  Remove one fuse at a time until you find which circuit it's in.  This will take a while but it will find the problem and it's free.

check your suppression module. driver side front close to alternator. It control how the battery charges the alternator. If you battery goes dead, after charging lock doors until alarm activates and you are now ready to star your car. [email protected]

when you battery goes dead, the security system locks the car. When you charge the bathery, use the key to lock the door and hold until the alarm activates. open your door and you can now start your [email protected]

take it to a local dodge dealer or a stereo store and they could tell u how to disable the alarm
