In reply to your messgae, this is the full problem as posted in another thread on the forum:
My Nissan Micra started having problems a few months ago. It's been into the garage a few times, and has been fully serviced, and the problem still persists. Basically it 'kangaroos' sometimes, and loses power for a few seconds, possibly as if not enough fuel is getting through. I have had the petrol pump replaced and the battery and belt for the alternator. Mr brother suggested putting in some 'Redex' as he thought it may be 'sticky valves' with it being unleaded fuel. This seemed to help a little, and I put some Redex in each tankfull now. The kangarooing and loss of power happen on a completely random basis, not in any specific circumstances. It can be fine for days, then have a few days of playing up. It does it more on long journeys. The problem sometimes seems to be associated with changing demand on the accelerator, eg it can play up after driving along smoothly for a while and then being stuck in a traffic queue, or after going round a sharp bend or over a humpy bridge it then can play up when setting off onto a smoother stretch of road. But as I said, this is all very random, it doesn't play up every time in those situations. Also sometimes the car stalls just after starting up in the morning (it starts fine) or can stall sometimes if waiting in traffic for a few minutes. Please help as my garage seem at a loss and I can't afford endless trips to the garage on the off-chance they can find what's wrong. Thank you!
Hi there i did not get a look at origional thread , but you just filled me in . seems that you have had quite a time trying to figure out this intermittant problem with stumbling . well iam going to ask you if the sparkplugs look black and sooty re carbon coated meaning too much fuel or incorrect ignition setup ? spray the sparkplug wires with wd40 completely spray ignition coil as well this will help seal any bad wires from leaking voltage to the motor and not to the sparkplug . lets try these things one step at a time a sparkplug wire sometimes bouncing around can cause a stumble with wd40 sprayed on them it will seal them for a couple of hours for you to go out and tickle the gas pedal and try and make stumble happen follow me so far ? after this simple test reveals the results then lets try to loosen the gas cap just a hair and lets go for a ride see if there is stumbling still ? please let me know how it works out i'll be looking into problem in the meantime ok .remember try one thing at a time to isolate problem ok good luck . keep in touch with me if you wish and thanks for using a trusted resource like fixya bye for now

sounds like fuel injector problems. you didnt say what yar though. let me know what year and if it has fuel injectors. Also to be sure and to stop just replacing parts and hoping for the right one to be put on you may have to have it put on a dyno and have it checked out... thats what i would do. 150.00 dollars may save you thousands in the long run. Let me kknow [email protected]

Nisssan Micra 03 - In lower gears car sometimes kangaroo's. The other day I was driving steadily then stopped in traffic queue, went to put my foot on accelerator no power just kangarood, engine still running ok but car not going anywhere. Engine management light on. Have been told by garage that code reads faulty crank position sensor so they will replace this, but have told me that it might not neccesarily be the problem. Seems very dangerous for car to just cutout on the road no time to pull over safely, what if I had been on the motorway.
