Electrical Alarm enabled, engine will not start and the key I have does not have the alarm system controls. How do I disable the alarm and get the car to start back up?

  • barawah Jul 21, 2008

I spoke with the fellow I bought the jeep from, electrical problems of all sorts. At any rate the solution for this problem, until I can resolve the electrical issues I'm having was to unlock the jeep from the passenger side door. As soon as I turned the key in the passenger side door the lights went out, I turned on the ignition and the engines ran just fine. I took it for a spin around the block and all is well. Thank you for your interest and assistance in my little ordeal. Jeep lovers rocks!

Go inside the vehicle, dont put key in ignition, leave driver's door open, press the auto lock button on the driver's door, now close door while you are inside and watch on the dash the alarm enable itself, once it stops flashing open the door, this will set off the alarm, lights flashing horn blowing. Now take the key and put it in the drivers door and turn the key to stop the alarm. Now start you vehicle. If you want you can take the glove box apart to get to the vehicle security module to remove it. Dont unplug it unless the vehicle is running (must be running due to back up on computer) unplug the module and you will never have another problem with the security again and it does not effect your powerlocks.

When i start my tazz 130, it doesn't start the alarm goes on.

If your Tazz 130 is not starting and the alarm goes off, there could be a few possible causes for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Check the battery: Ensure that the battery is fully charged and properly connected. A weak or dead battery can prevent the car from starting and trigger the alarm.

2. Disable the alarm: If the alarm is causing the problem, try disabling it by using the key fob or unlocking the car manually with the key. Refer to your car's manual for specific instructions on how to disable the alarm.

3. Check the immobilizer: Some cars have an immobilizer system that can prevent the engine from starting if it detects unauthorized access. Make sure you are using the correct key and that it is programmed correctly. If you suspect an issue with the immobilizer, consult a professional mechanic or your car's dealership.

4. Check for any other issues: Inspect the ignition system, such as the spark plugs, ignition coil, and starter motor, for any signs of damage or malfunction. It is also a good idea to check for any loose or corroded electrical connections.

If you are unable to diagnose or fix the problem on your own, it is recommended to take your car to a qualified mechanic or contact the manufacturer's support for further assistance.

99 explorer alarm disables. Motor dies

Anti-theft system can keep vehicle from starting , Alarm is for vehicle content theft , open door without key alarm sounds (horns) ! PATS - passive anti theft system PATS enables and disables the engine from starting ,it will not cause the engine to die ! You have some other kind of problem ! If the vehicle engine doesn't turn over an red light on top of dash flashes fast ,then you have anti-theft system problem !
PATS differs from the perimeter anti-theft system in that PATS enables and disables the engine from starting. If equipped, the perimeter anti-theft system protects the perimeter of the vehicle (doors, hood and trunk) and sounds an alarm.

How do I permanently disable a DEI Automate car alarm on our 1999 Acura Integra.

Just remove it. It shouldn't be too hard, take all the parts and harness out, reconnect any cut wires and wrap any exposed wires with electrical tape.

How do I reset the ProLock system?

Hi Carol , do you mean PATS passive antitheft system ? Locked up your car ,do you mean it won't crank over an start ?
The passive anti-theft system uses radio frequency identification technology to deter a driveaway theft. Passive means that it does not require any activity from the user.
  • During each vehicle start sequence, the ignition key identification code is requested by the vehicle protection anti-theft electronics.
  • If the key's ID code has been programmed into the system, the powertrain control module (PCM) (12A650) is signaled to enable the vehicle to start.
  • If the key's ID code is not programmed into the system, or if no encoded key is detected, then the powertrain control module is signaled to disable the vehicle.
The passive anti-theft system communicates the state of the security system to the powertrain control module via the J-1850 communications network data link connector (DLC). The powertrain control modulebased on the communications from the passive anti-theft system, will determine if the vehicle's engine is enabled to start. The passive anti-theft system differs from the active anti-theft alarm system in that the passive anti-theft system enables/disables the vehicle from starting and only operates with the ignition switch in RUN/START position. The active anti-theft alarm system has perimeter protection capabilities and operates only with the ignition switch OFF. Refer to Section 13-11A for active anti-theft alarm system information.
Vehicle Disabling The passive anti-theft system will be activated and disable the vehicle from starting if any of the following conditions exist:
  • damaged encoded key
  • unprogrammed key
  • non-encoded key (key has no electronics)
  • wiring concern
  • transceiver concern
  • Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) control module concern
  • J-1850 Communications Network concern
  • Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

Take the dash and glove box off. Under where the glove box is there are two boxes, unplug the one farthest to the left. This completley disables the security alarm.
