Milage odometer on 1997 Chrysler Sebring doesn't work

The milage odometer doesn't work on my 1997 Chrysler Sebring.
And I have checked the fuses. What else could it be?

I bet you'll have to replace it. The whole thing comes out and is called "instrument cluster" it has all the dash gauges. Average price on Ebay is $30. However, if you want to be within the law and all you'll have to have it say the actual mileage of your car. Maybe you will be lucky and find one used that is very close to yours.

Your cluster has gone out, to get it rebuild it will cost around $76.00. i don't know how much a new one costs.

there are two sets of fuses in the sebring.check both the under-hood fuses and also make sure to check the fuse located on the left side of the dashboard.

Just purchased a 1997 Sebring JXI for our daughters first car. Seems like a decent car with a few, hopefully just minor, issues. 1. The radio volume doesn't work properly 2. the odometer doesn't light up....
Both of those problems are beyond the normal DIY so I doubt you will find much info in a regular repair book. You may need to get a used shop manual from Ebay to get the necessary testing procedures.
I would say the radio problem is the radio, and the odometer could be a problem with the printed circuit board in the cluster. If the speed sensor is not working the speedometer would also be dead.

Odometer is not working.
in latin "caveat emptor" or let the buyer beware.there is no way of knowing what the mileage is but if its not burning oil/runs sweet, no problem.does your auction room have a get out clause re are goods as seen or what???(if sold "as is" with no warranty then you are stuck if its duff) sorry but in the uk, we have laws to protect us ,

97 Sebring convertivle
Remove the instrument panel and you will see two resistors on the circuit board that heated up and turned the circuit board brown. There will be a bad solder joint at one end of one of the resistors. Take a low temp soldering iron and solder the connection and you'll get your tach, odometer and shift indicator back. The whole procedure took me about 1.5 hours!
