SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. It has to do with everything that is related to the airbags: Sensors, Control units, Seat Belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems (if your car has one). When the car is started, the system will go through a series of self-tests to make sure that the entire system is working properly. The SRS light will either flash during this test or remain on steadily during it. If there is one thing that failed at this test, the light will remain on and I understand that your airbags will not work while this light remains on. You need to have it checked at a dealer, but be prepared: it will cost some money to check it and that's before they discover if anything is wrong that caused the light to stay on in the first place.

My wife just called to tell me the SRS light stays on after the initial check. A quick online search came up with this "home fix": pull the hazard fuse, wait 15 minutes, then replace fuse. Start Odyssey.
If SRS indicator remains on, they suggested taking it to someplace like Autozone to check the code. There will be a charge, but not as expensive as the dealer.
I'll pull our fuse tonight to test it.
