Gas tank door

The button inside the driver door that's supposed to open the gas tank door doesn't work. I have to open the trunk, reach behind the liner and manually trip the gas door. Is this maybe a fuse gone out or what? If so, how do I find it to fix it?

I finally found the solution on another website. The button still worked, you could see the latch release when the door was open. So I just bent the bracket on the fuel door back a little and presto! Can't believe it was so simple!

I had one gas door solenoid replaced under warranty. Since then I have just shot a bit of WD40 onto the post comng from the solenoid that holds the door closed. Do this at each oil change and the problems should stop.

Gas tank door wont open for my 1994 Cadillac deville

The actuator should be accessible from inside the trunk behind the trunk liner (just follow the wire). You should be able to remove the actuator and manually push the latch.

I have a 1994 crown vic and the button for the fuel door is broken how can i get the door open until i can get it fixed?

There should be a pull cable in the trunk that you can pull to open the gas door, it may be behind the carpet on the wall behind the gas door inside the trunk.

How can the gas tank door be manually opened

Some cars have a release in the trunk for the gas tank door, not sure if the Saturn does though. It would be located near the door in the trunk. Is the release inside the car not working? If not, get a pair of vise grips and clamp them on the cable behind the pull or release and manually pull it, as it may have stretched out, and that could be why it's not working.

Gas tank door not opening

Hi there,
Have you looked in the trunk on the side that the gas tank is on? There may be a fuel release switch. Couple of other things to try is to unlock all your doors from the inside of your car and/ or try pushing in and out on the gas door over and over until, hopefully, it triggers the device. I hope that will help you. I will keep trying to find the answer. Let me know. Have a great night.~MWD

Gas Tank door stuck

Try having a second person pull on the door as you press the button, and also listen by the door to see if you can hear the release latch working. Also, open your trunk, and on the same side as your gas tank will be a little pull handle as an emergency release for your fuel door. It may be behind the trunk liner, but usualy they are easily accessable. and if you have any other problems, refer to the owner's manual to locate the release.

I can't open the lid to the gas tank. the button to release the gas lid isn't working. also next to it, the button for the trunk release also doesn't work.

I had a similar problem with my TT Roadster and it was a problem with my central locking system, it temporarily disengaged after a minor incident with the rain while my top was down. Anyway for me it was simply a matter of time before the system reengaged it's self it took maybe a week or so, but to get around the problem, behind your passenger seat there is a storage compartment, pull the lever in the storage compartment to open the trunk, once in the trunk on the left sidewall of the trunk there is a seamless square open that square and there is a black pulley in there, pull on that and your gas tank should open. I hope this help.
