That is a friendly "get the oil changed light" and a reminder that a 25K service is due. To get rid of the light, push down the "A" trip reset button, turn the car off (while holding the button down), and turn the ignition on but don't start the car - while still holding down the A reset button. You'll see a count up meter on the display that will tell you when the system is reset. Enjoy.

Thank you DrWiz, you are the best. I had the same problem and contrary to what the Owners Manual states(which is backwards and had me going crazy), your instructions are 100% correct. thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Check out the fuse box, rather have a mechanic check out the fuse box and root out anything blown out or wires shorted.

I own a 2007 Camry Hybrid and on my car the light says maintenance required soon what does this mean?

It could just be in need of it's oil change. I would consider taking it to your local autozone and they can use a scan tool to isolate the problem free of charge and only takes a couple of minutes. If it is something more serious please come back and update me.
thank you,

Maintenance required light on 2008 camry, why is it on?

Hello. Welcome to FIxYa. Please allow us to assist you

The maintenance required light is there to remind you that your oil change is due. This light needs to be reset after the oil ic changed, it is manually reset. If you just had your oil changed, the light will not go off by itself. The light is designed to illuminate after 5,000 miles since the last reset procedure.

Maint required light just came on .....2008 toyota camry....is this a bad sign or a minimal problem

The maintenance required light lets you know its time for an oil change. Once the oil is changed the light can be reset. The light will usually blink for a few seconds as you approach the 5,000 mile mark and then stay on steady as the 5,000 mile mark is reached or surpassed.

Toyota camry 2007 Maintenance light on the dash

Most maintenance lights are set to come on automatically every 5,000 miles telling you to get your oil changed. If you do your own service, or have someone other then the Toyota dealer service your vehicle, look for that light description in the owners manual where it explains the dash lights and go to the page explaining it and it should give you the procedure to reset that light when it comes on.

Good Luck

Maintenance required light is on in my 2008 Toyota Camry

You can take it back and have them reset the light that they for got to do. Or check your manual and do it your self. I think you push the trip setter and hold it until the dashes disappear. Or go to trip a and then push and hold.

2006 toyota camry

It's basically a type of oil change life/ idiot lamp that will come on briefly after 4K just after startup and then stay on steady after 5K reached after reset procedure done after each oil change.
The explanation of it's purpose and the reset procedure should be covered in your owner's manual.
I remember resetting some Toyota maint req lamp by holding in the trip reset button ,turning on the ignition key ,the mileage indicator appears as a row of flashing segments that gradually disappear and your done.
If that doesn't work ,try releasing the trip switch momentarily, just after turning the key to run position and then redepress and hold the trip reset button in (before the cluster completes it's lamp prove out)
