Hey Trent once ya gain access to it again go where the metal tab is that holds the cable in place and simply give it a little tweak with a pair of pliers pulling it so it stretches the cable slightly and then test it and im sure ya know now but never put the panel on till ya test it.

I replaced the power lock switch on the driver side of my chevy malibu because the locks were locking and unlocking by themselves, I also heard a beep under the dash. The problem was taken care of. Now...

All the lock's ,were locking an unlocking or just the driver door lock ? Probably wasn't the switch ,more likely a bad input to the BCM . The door lock's are computer controlled .
Do you know what a BCM is ? body control module .
Each door lock switch is wired to the body control module (BCM) through a separate door lock/unlock signal circuit. While these circuits are separated between the BCM and respective door lock switch, they are connected into a single circuit within the BCM. The BCM supplies voltage through the door lock/unlock signal circuits to each door lock switch. When either door lock switch is operated, this supply voltage is pulled to ground, providing the BCM with the required lock or unlock signal. In order for the BCM to distinguish between a lock and unlock signal, the lock switch contains two separate paths for this voltage to flow to the same body ground. When the switch is operated to the unlock position, the supply voltage flows to ground through a 1.5 K? resistor. When the switch is operated to the lock position, the supply voltage flows to ground through a different part of the switch circuit, which has no resistor. The BCM then interprets the flow of voltage as a lock or unlock request and powers the door lock actuators to the appropriate lock or unlock position.

1998 Dodge ram van 3500 door will not open. power locks that cick on for open & close don't work

Not easy to find, incorporated in the lock itself, usually a little tag sticking out to pull/push, but it is normally on the side you can't get too, I take the lock out complete and then you know what you are working with, you can see how it all works that way!!

I have struck silimar issues with fords in NZ. If the actuator is getting full voltage during lock and unlocking, the actuator is faulty. Even though it wants to go it does not have enough strength to pull the lock mechanism, so it can not lock or unlock the catch.

Sunburn 1994 handle wont work

Yes, Usually If you pull inside the lock area incorrectly, it will cause the rod to detach from the door latch. The door panel will have to come off and the rod, located and reattached. The retaining clip probably is damaged so inspect it and you should be able to find a replacement at NAPA or local dealership.

Door panel removal

There is hidden screw under top of arm rest.  the mirror control comes out.  Be careful.  then there are 2 screws in bottom of arm rest.  Then the arm rest/handle needs to spin up towards sky and it will pull out.  the scushing (plastic around handle ) slides forward and this handle surround will come off.  Then there are clips that are behind panel.  Put hand between door and door panel and pull panel outward. be careful.  sometimes firm tug is better
