I put the truck in neutral, switch to 4x4 high and the front tires on the dashboard will only blink and the 4x4 high or low will not engage.. neither of them working even though I hear that little clicking when u switch... (like the electrical clicking insidecthe cabin, not gridding of gears) .. the 4x4 high light goes in yellow and the 4x4 light goes in green but does not engage and blinks in green. also either in 2wd or 4wd high or 4wd low the lock diff on dash board blinks yellow.. I dont think it's locking.. I looked to lose wires or broken hardware under the truck and everything seems normal and in place... it all worked like 2-3 weeks ago.. what could the problem be? easy to figure out put transfer case forward if you move easy this is high try to turn if you are in 4x4 it will pull front and rear tires pull a little more toward the seat should go into neutral pull again it will be 4 high pull one more time toward seat should be low on the older chevys you my have to be in neutral the transmission to get transfer to lock in there are only 2 wheel 4 high 4 low and neutral you will know the differance

just crawl under it and replace the two hall sensors on your transfer case im about 90% sure thats the problem

does the front tires roll when in drive while you have the 4x4 engaged if not it sounds like the transfer case isn't engaging properly

to switch into low you have to stop the jeep and put it into neutral then engage low. to get it out of low you have to do it the same way. you can tell if its in 4 wheel drive by making a hard turn driving slowly on dry pavement. you will feel like a slipping movement in the front end. (when i said hard turn this mean turn the steering wheel all the way in one direction) hope this helps. thank you and please rate.

Jack the front wheel up. Try to turn the wheel, if it loc it do engage, if it turn it do not. Put it in 4X4 but in neutral car must be started
