Battery light came on

The battery is not charging. Check the drive belt is not slipping, otherwise it could be an alternator fault.

Was the battery unhooked recently, Alternator or battery could be faulty, you can check them with a digital meter. The Immobilizer light may go away after you adress the battry/charging fault.

I'm not clear on this. You had a new crank sensor installed? The car turns over but it does not start? Or the car does not turn over, like the battry is dead??

I just went thru same thing with my 2003 f-350 diesel. I hooked up my horse Trailor and drove to Von's parked went in came back out and truck was dead. I tried to jump it didn't work. Then over next two hours two tow truck Drivers hooked up to both batteries full power charge direct to my truck and would not start.
End story required two new batteries alternator and cilanoid discussed above. In other post. Also contributing to the cause was really badly coroded cables they looked good at the connection point but wher discovered to be coroded inside the tubing just above the end connections so bow it has all been replaced and I have had no trouble since. Check your fusible links leaving the positive battery cable,wires could be burnt or swollen.just check all wires coming from positive side of battery.Also check all fuses in fuse box.

Does the car make any noise when you turn it over? If it clicks when you turn the key the battery is dead. Quickest way to check a battery is to switch your high beam on. Get out and check the lights. If they are dim then the battery either needs charging or replacing.

How old is the starter? New or used?

the battery is dead the alternator is most likely bad and did not charge the battery and thats why u needed a battery

Sounds like a short...be very careful.
