After it broke how did you get it removed. Mine just broke with plug still inside the hose, no way to grab or remove. The remedy to the problem is what would be helpful.

I had a 1996 Taurus. My drain plug was on the back of the radiator, by the lower hose. It was a plastic butterfly key type of top. It broke( being plastic), when I struggled to open it. I hope this helps

How do drain antifreez from radiator I cant find drain plug

Facing the front of the car, the drain plug is at the bottom of the radiator, right hand side, between the support rail and the radiator. There is a hole in the support rail to access this drain plug ( + ) style plug - unscrew counter-clockwise.

I need to bleed the radiator system. Where is the bleed valve?

Uncap the radiator, and unscrew the radiator drain plug. Normally, this drain plug is located on the inside bottom of the radiator, but models will vary. Once the drain plug is unscrewed, coolant will rush out into the drain pan. If there is not a drain plug, then disconnecting the lower radiator hose will be adequate.

Where is plug to drain the radiator?

Some models do not have a drain plug because they have a plastic radiator shell. If there is one, is should be by the lower raidator hose on the bottom of the shell. I usually just disconnect the lower radiator hose and let it drain from there.

How to replace coolant for nissan altima 2006

Park the Nissan Altima on a flat surface and set the parking brake. Next, open the hood and check the external temperature of the radiator. If the radiator is warm to the touch, wait for the radiator to cool before you continue.

Twist the radiator cap one turn to relieve any pressure. Step back from the radiator and allow a few seconds to pass, and then completely remove the radiator cap.

Place a bucket or tray with at least a 2-gallon capacity underneath the radiator and below the drain plug. The drain plug on a Nissan Altima is on the passenger side bottom of the radiator.

Loosen the drain plug and let the old coolant drain completely into the bucket. Take care while loosening the drain plug, because it's plastic and can be brittle. Pour the old coolant into a sealable container for proper disposal later and put the bucket back under the drain plug opening.

Close the drain plug and pour distilled water into the radiator until it's full. Then, open the drain plug and let the water flow into the bucket. Keep repeating this procedure until the water runs clear and debris free into the bucket. You will need at least 3 gallons of distilled water.

Make sure to tighten the drain plug and fill the radiator with fresh coolant. Refill the radiator to within an inch of it overflowing. Check the drain plug and hoses for any possible leaks.

Start the Nissan Altima and turn the heater to the high setting. Let it run for about 10 minutes and shut the engine off. Check the coolant level and refill, if necessary. Finally, put the radiator cap on and close the hood.

How do you drain the radiator on a 2001 blazer

There is drain plug on the drivers side of the radiator at the bottom, but the safest way is to just remove the lower radiator hose on the passenger side to drain the radiator. The drain plug is plastic and it may crack due to time and heat and you'll have to buy a replacement radiator drain plug, for this reason most newer radiator don't come with a drain plug and if you want one you'll have to install the drain plug kit. If your radiator doesn't have a drain plug then you have the newer radiators install already as the older radiators we still being installed until they were all gone and the new ones were installed.
Thank you for using Fixya.

Where is the radiator drain plug located on a 97 chevy 1500 Z71? I'm trying to flush the radiator, but cannot find it.

It's located on the drivers side of the radiator opposite of the lower radiator hose. Note: you may be better off disconnecting the lower radiator hose, it's common for the drain plug to break or the O-rings to split causing more work to drain the radiator. That's why most tech's will drain the radiator from the lower radiator hose, less chance of breaking the radiator drain plug and most new cars now don't come with a drain plug to the radiator.

Draining cooling system 2001 olds bravada

There is a drain plug on the radiator on the divers side, inside at the bottom. Note: most of the time when the plug is removed the O-ring get's damaged and needs to be replaced since it sticks to the radiator. Most of the time it's quicker and easier to disconnect the lower radiator hose on the passenger side and let it drain there. Most of the newer radiator don't even have a drain plug and if you want a drain plug, you'll have to drill a hole where the drain plug should be and place one there. The drain plug is around $4.99 at most Auto Parts store. Good luck and hope this helps.

How do I get to the radiator drain plug? 2003 Astro Van

Great news for you, the best way to drain the radiator is to remove the lower radiator hose. The bad news is that OEM radiator came with no drain plug and you can have one put in after you remove the radiator to drill a hole and tap in a $6.00 radiator drain plug for NAPA auto parts. Good luck and hope this helps. this was a way for GM to save money by one less parts to have make, since most auto mechanic just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the radiator. Good luck and hope this helps. If your luck and your Astor does have one, you can find the drain plug on the lower drivers side of the radiator, engine side.

You can remove the drain plug in the bottom on the radiator.
You can remove the lower radiator hose. Since the vehicle is 10 years old you may want to inspect the hoses for replacement anyway.

) Make sure the vehicle is cool.
) Slightly loosen the radiator cap to release any pressure.
) Re-tighten the radiator cap.
) Place a suitable container under the drain point.
) open the drain.
) Re-loosen the radiator cap again.
) Allow to drain.
) REPLACE THE DRAIN PLUG.
* At this point the radiator can be fill with water and a radiator cleaning agent- run the engine - allow to warm up.
* Re-drain the radiator - .
) REPLACE THE DRAIN PLUG.
) Refill the radiator with water/anti-freeze.
) Dispose of waste fluid according to the local regulations. Some city dumps will accept it. Some parts stores may accept it. Do not pour down the drain or dump on the ground.
