Your serpentine drive belt could be slipping over your power steering pump. Sounds like a premature failure from your pump. This is not an easy fix depending on the location of the pump itself. Remove your serpentine belt, locate the pump and pulley. Try to spin the pulley by hand. If there is alot of tension, your pump may need replacing. If not, try replacing the belt and check your belt tensioner for looseness.

Whenever i turn my wheels to the left or right i hear a squeeking noise as well as a popping sound coming from the front end area, whether im in motion or not?what could be the problem?

check your power steering fluid -- if that is low, your pump will make funny noises like that. If it is not that, have the pump itself checked out. If not that ... it might be something more major than that (but most steering parts won't squeak and pop unless they are VERY damaged ... if you are still able to turn the car reliably, it's probably the fluid or the pump.

My ford explorer 2004 4wd squeeks when i accelerate, i installed a brand new serpentine and a drive belt idler pulley and the squeeking noise continues. How can this be fixed?

Could be the bearings in the alternator, power steering pump, or a/c compressor. Try spraying penetraing oil in between the pulley and the alternator, power steering pump, and compressor one by one. If the squeaking stops. Replace that part.

No Power Stearing, fluid is good, belts are fine. Small squeeking from pulley area.

Your power steering pump has probably failed and that is what the squeeking sound is. The power steering pump probably needs to be replaced.

Without the belt do all the pulleys turn easy. Power steering, water pump, alternator, and tensioner pulley. There is probably only one way the belt will stay on but make sure you have the smooth side to the smooth pulley and the grooved side to the grooved pulleys. See if any of the pulleys have and wiggle in them.

Make sure the tie rod ends are greased up, if that is possible.

Had this same problem, a squeaking or creaking sound on a Ford Taurus that when we replaced the tie rod ends the sound went away.

Squeaking sound, was told it is the water pump. Is this costly?

could be your water pump or your low on power stiring fluid... but if it was your power steering fluid low then it would be come harder for you to steer your car... check both

Steering pump squeeking 1999 Liberty Subaru Heritage RX

You might have a loose fan belt on the steering pump, check this out first, it might not be a bearing in the steering pump.
