Vacuum Hoses all ultimately lead to the intake manifold. Otherwise they won't draw a vacuum.
Now vacuum hoses may go to other parts, like "mini" vacuum manifolds" or T-fittings, or X-fittings. But
Somewhere down the road they all lead to the intake manifold. There may be several place on the outside of the manifold for various sizes of hose. But they will be there. The power brakes are connected to a large hose that goes to that same manifold.
That being said. If a hose if disconnected from the manifold, and there is a hole in the manifold cover where it is supposed to go. The engine will have a hard time idling, etc.
Hope this helps.
Best, Mark
