Won't Start, stuck in park, and crazy guages

I am trying to help a buddy with this -- the car will not start (no turnover at all) and I checked the starter relay and solenoid (voltage good when turning the key to start position). It is now stuck in park and the when clicked on the gauges (speedometer and tach both dance around). I was wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Check on the security system... might need resetting.

check the fly wheel censor ,clean or replace it , i had the same fault in a jag ,and it was the censor,usually held on with just one bolt or hex screw.

2005 Limited. Why doesn't it start?

have battery checked, if it has an internal short boosting it won`t start it. also check battery cable connections at both ends for corrosion.

My car runs fine for days then i'll park somewhere and go to turn it back on and it won't start at all. It won't turn over or anything.

CHECK BATTERY CONNECTIONS, STARTER CONNECTIONS, WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN IT DOESN'T START, TO GET IT GOING AGAIN, DO YOU GET A JUMP START IF SO CHECK CONNECTIONS.

96 jetta gl buddy put in a 95 transmission....won't start in park

the neutral safety switch is probably faulty the radio says safety because the wrong code was entered 3 time key needs to be on for 3 hours hook up battery charger check engine light may be code for trans issue

sounds like alot of problems, have rolled into 1, without looking at it with my eyes, could be the main electric box that has just packed in

Guages when crazy. Now won't even try to start.

You likely have it repaired by now but it sounds like a classic case of oxidized battery or cable connection (sometimes mis-diagnosed as bad battery but cured with new (clean) battery)
