Driving home one night in my 2005 Chevy Tahoe all of a sudden the xm radio went out and radio switched to FM and XM would not come back on. At the same time the Tachometer started jumping and the voltage meter dropped. the radio lights would dim and brighten. We immediately drove to the local car repair in town to had them check the battery. Battery tested a bit low, but no problems with alternator. Battery replaced. Three weeks later same problem again. then it happened again about a week later, the seat heaters also went out that time. took it to dealership, they repaired a bad wire under the dash, I left and problem started again about 10 minutes after leaving shop. Took car back and they kept it for 4 days and could not get the car to repeat the problem. Now today it began again, but this time the 4 wheel drive lights went off and on and also the driver door buttons lit up and the check engine light and stabiitrak message came onalong with the stabilitrak light. Xm radio was gone again. Tachometer was also jumping, but voltage gauge, and gas gauge were fine. seat heaters also worked. \r\nI have had problems in te past with the motor sensor for the driver's seat being replaced twice. Also had a problem with the 4 wheel drive sensor going out a couple years ago. Does anyone have an answer that I can take back to the dealership?

there should be a radio code, like a serial number for your xm radio, maybe in your owner's manual. all you do is call xm with this code and have it activated.
1st you will need to contact Infiniti, so they can quote you the option which is $700.00 something dollars when i checked. Just because its equipped there are still things that need to be added in order to make it function. As per the mechanic. Rip off.
"XM Ready" means that you have to have a satelite radio installed in order to have XM service. I went through this when buying my 2005 CR-V and thought that all I needed was to set up the service. If you have an XM receiver installed you can controll it on your Honda factory radio. It is very misleading.
Most of the New Aftermarket Stereo's now have the Connections for Sirius and XM Built in so you just need the Sat. Install Box. Really Simple. If you want to go a Cheaper Route Just Purchase the XM or Sirius Reciever and Mounting kit for the Dash or Windshield and It will play through an Empty FM Station on the Radio Via the FM Transmitter. Got one in all of my Vehicles and they work Great!
