Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Had a "new" engine put into a 2002 Dodge 1500. Still running hot and oil pressure drops. How can I tell if the mechanic actually put a "new" engine in?

Not many ways to tell without taking the engine apart.
There should be signs of new gaskets and shiny clean metal.
A brand new engine is not really possible since Dodge probably stopped making them a few years ago. Most times you get a rebuilt engine from Dodge or any number of rebuilders from around the country.
As long as you got a warranty that covers 2 or 3 years and several thousand miles, you are as safe as you can be. The warranty from most major companies and the dealer would be good across the country, not just the shop that did the install.

Car maint service at 60,000 miles

first answer is the easiest to answer
brake pad comes in 3 compositions
hard for extreme brake work --taxi applications
intermediate --for every day drivers and conservative brake applications
soft for high speed stops and braking as in race cars
The dust generated is in direct ratio to your driving habits and brake applications at 60,000 miles it should not be necessary to replace chains but tensioner and wear pads may need adjustment
get reputable brake professional shops to do the brakes as there may e a need to machine the disc rotors before fitting new pads
That makes quoting from here difficult to do as an inspection is required first
Find accredited service shops with experience on BMW cars and get service quotes but I would expect the account to be around $1000.00 aud for the service as it is a big service and should include all fluid changes , Brakes , transmission , diff , coolant, power steering
suspension checks , fault code readings , possible plugs and leads
It will all be in the service schedule book

I have a 84 s10 2 wheel drive a dont now the number ov teeth on the spine

you have to take it apart anyway...pull the axle .mark one tooth on the spline and count till you get back to it... my guess is 28
as for gear ratio on the big gear you will find numbers stamped on it
like 41/10 divide the big number by the small one and it will give the rear end ratio high numbers like 4;10 give up hole shot n tire spin
and frequnt trips tothe gas station low #s like 2;73 give huge top speed and good hwy crusing mileage but a bicycle will beat you thru a trafic light (unless u got 500 hp)

While driving my grand am stalls out on me at random, this problem has become so frequent that it stalls atleast once every time i drive it. the car only has about 92000 miles on it and my shop could not...

The Trac off and abs lights being on together are a related problem. With your check engine light on shop should be able to tell what is wrong. Go to AutoZone or similar and have them scanned the computer for codes then get a new shop

Mistu eclipes check engine light came on - it looks like this (!) what does that mean?

This is a low tire pressure indicator.

If the light is illuminated, it means one or more of your tires have fallen below 28 psi.
Take the vehicle to a shop or gas station and have the tires aired back up to 32psi (or your preference for pressure)
The light will go out after about 1/4 mile of driving at the right pressures.

If the light is flashing, you have a fault in the tire pressure monitor system and require service from a Mitsubishi dealer (factory scan tool is required for service)

I have a 2004 chevy suburban and the displays say service 4wd. any suggestions on whats wrong?

It appears the four wheel transmission either has problems, or is active without the need to be active (which might be bad for it) your best bet is to ask a mechanic the next time you go by a gas station or a garage/repair shop. They WILL know what is going on if they actually know what they are doing.

I have a 2007 Audi A3 5 door hatchback Special but no handbook was included when I bought the car. My problem is that I do not know what the tyre pressure should be for this car and having had the car for...

Look inside the petrol cap! Otherwise:Audi A3 Recommended Tyre Pressures 1.6 96 - Onwards 28 28 32 40 1.8 96 - Onwards 28 28 32 40 1.8 SE 96 - Onwards 28 28 32 40 1.8 Sport 96 - Onwards 28 28 32 40 1.8 T Sport 96 - Onwards 28 28 32 40 1.8 T Quattro Sport 00 - Onwards 28 28 32 40 S3 99 - Onwards 30 30 36 40 1.9 TDi - 110bhp 96 - Onwards 30 30 36 40 1.9 TDi - 130bhp 01 - Onwards 28 28 32 40

Telephoned Audi Main Dealers around Manchester – Macclesfield very helpful, others either disconnected or not answering. Manual costs £21.85 (inc. VAT) + postage .... Too big to actually download and print, I suspect!

New remotes

Assuming that this is concerning a 1996 Grand Cherokee, a new remote needs to be programmed via the Jeeps computer connector, It cannot be programmed by the user for this model.  If you buy the remote from the dealer, see if they will program it at no charge (they should).  If you bought it elsewhere, you will most likely have to pay for the programming.  I got a quote a few years ago for $30, but last week I answered the same question for another user and it cost them $60.  Yes, it is a rip-off especially since it takes just a few minutes.  Check with other repair shops as some may have the programing equipment needed, at a lower price.
