The only way to clear up a clogged heater core, is ti have the coolant system flushed. Take you car to a reputable radiator shop. They will add a radiator cleaner to your heater core directly, and let it sit there for a while. Then the vehicle will need to be started and allow the thermostat to open. Once heated, they will flush out the entire coolant system, and replace it with new coolant. The cost will be approx. $100 - $200.......better than the $1500 to replace a heater core. A well maintained vehicle should have this procedure done every "5" years.
