I have a stock alarm on my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse... my alarm doesnt have a remote, so everytime i lock my door either using the key from the outside or locking it by flipping the lock inside.. after 5 or 10 minutes or so the car willl unlock it self. do u guyz know wats wrong with it..

Sounds like there's a wire under your hood or dash that melted and crossed over check add one like alarms amps fog lights

Take off the inside door panel and see if there is something by the lock that activates/deactivates the alarm when you turn the key. Compare the drivers side(L), to the passenger side(R), that works. All mechanical things like to break down over time.

Use the KEY (not the REMOTE) to UNlock the driver's door or the trunk. Then use the key to START the car, then shut it off. Finally, get out and LOCK the car using the mechanical KEY. That should clear the security system codes caused by disconnecting the battery!

is it a factory alarm or a aftermarket. if it is the after market then pull it out. if it is the factory just stuck the key in the ignition with the alarm going

at trunk button override and jump switch if dont work have to make way to get through at back seat

yes you have activated the factory alarm and it has disabled starter. lock the doors close them then wait 15min and unlock the drivers door with the key this should reset the alarm.

replace the battery of the remote. check connection of the master alarm system

Have you tried resetting the alarm, or even disconnecting the car battery and reconnecting it... also make sure all doors and trunk lid is closed

it was equiped with silent alarm for that year

I can definately help you out with this question. I am a PROUD owner of 2 previous eclipse and now my 2000 model eclipse! Yea!

All you do is just simply take your key ....NOT the remote. The key! And as soon as the alarm goes off,just put your key in the trunk key slot and turn it to the right or to the left and it will immediately stop that disturbing and nerve racking BEEP-----Beep-----BEEP ****. For real its that simple. Just remember its then set (or should be set to original code and your problem should cease).
