Hi, Does anyone know how to check the transmission oil level in a 2005 Audi A3 Auto? I'm having some transmission problems and someone has suggested that the oil level may be low, except I do not know how to check it? Thanks, Ryan

Lift your hood you should have 2 dipsticks under the hood. The closest one to your fire wall should be your transmission dipstick. The fluid should be red in color. You want to have the engine at operating temp and also running while you check it You will want to have your transmission in park or if a manual in neutral. Then when you pull the stick you will see writing on one or both sides of stick you will want to follow the instruction's that are on the stick for measurement. That way you are sure not to overfill it Overfilling may cause damage to your transmission. Always put on your emergency brake while checking your fluid.

My Audi A3 2.0 fsi sline Quattro is struggling to find gears ( very stiff to change and impossible to find reverse with the engine running)

First check the fluid level and make sure it is correct. If it's good you will then need to go to the dealership to have the codes pulled. I hope the problem is the fluid because it will be expensive otherwise.

Sounds like low automatic transmission fluid. Have you checked the fluid level. Have you noticed it leaving spots where it's parked?
We used to have an Audi A4 wagon and the transmission was always reliable for us. We always kept it well serviced. Audi's (like all high performance cars) need very regular service and attention to be kept going well.

Oil level problem with 2005 Audi A6 3.0 TDI Diesel Quattro

My 2005 A4 3.0 convertible audi is not a diesel, but I had a similar experience with a low oil signal going on and after checking the oil, which was sufficient, and replacing the dipstick, the light did not come back on until a subsequent trip. The light usualIy went on when I was close to the needing an oil change. I've had the car, a used one, for about two years, and the oil light minimum signal started behaving like yours early. About a week ago the oil pressure warning light came on. I don't know if there's a relationship, but if there is be careful. Audis of our vintage have a problem with sludge build up that damages the oil pump, which is a costly item. If you drive the car with low oil pressure you may seriously/fatally damage the car. I don't know if the sludge, if that's what you have, can be cleaned out, but I'd do it if it can be. My mechanic advised me to trade the car to a dealer rather than fix it. Hope you have better luck!

Power steering light has come on,on dash and steering not working, audi a3 fsi 2003 ,1st time it happened just turning ignition on and off solved the problem, now light stays on and power steering not...

Have you verified that the power steering fluid is at the right level? If it isn't, you need to fill it to the proper level using specific Audi power steering fluid (it's a mineral-oil-like fluid, NOT the stuff you buy at the parts store). If you've run the reservoir dry and kept driving, it's likely you've burned out the pump and will have to replace it.

if they don't work than it is your brake light switch located on the pedal support bracket.
