A 1997 c1500 doesnt have a carb it is fuel injected, you poured fuel into the throttle body. when you turn the key to the start position and you do not hear the fuel pump you could have a blown fuse. if not, all chevys have passlock a passive antitheft system that have locked the fuel system down. check some remote start companies on the internet you will find one with a wiring diagram, you can figure out the rest from there. its eas

My 1995 cadillac devile some times starts and i no if i hear the fuel pump come on when i turn the key on i no it is going to start but if i dont hear it come on i no it wont

Could be the pump or the pump relay.
I would check the relay first. Its under the hood on the firewall in a row of relays.
You may need a book to get the wiring diagrams needed to test the circuits.

So i change the fuel pump, not when i try to start it. it just turns over and wont fire. before it went down, it was shotting black smoke, running real shotty and would literally die upon starting or not...

first things first you should stop just throwing parts at a broken car its a waiste of your money...
first things first, check to make sure you have spark, then check the fuel pressure, can you hear the fuel pump working when you first turnthe key one with out starting the engine, also verify that you have power to the fuel pump. 90% of all fuel pumps replaced are missdiagnosis's. most of the time its the fuel pump relay. so check these things first before replacing anything else.

Ive got a 1997 cavalier it will start but quickly dies out ive got fire to my plugs and fuel to the injectures ive just replaced the ignition switch is there somkind of a security

You need a new fuel pump relay. The engine fires up and runs off the oil pressure switch untill the oil pressure PSI is reached at normal operating conditions. When the oil pressure reaches its operating PSI the PCM or engines computer will shut off that circuit and turns on the fuel pump relay to run the fuel pump untill you shut the engine off

Wont start or stay on

From the info you provided, it seems like it is not getting constant supply of fuel. I think that don't have a carburator. It has a TBI(Throttle Body Injector. You should hear a faint humming noise at the back coming from within the fuel tank when you turn the key on. Thats the fuel pump. Your fuel pump may have gone out.

1999 GMC Suburban Wont Turn Over

It sounds like you have a security problem, I had the same thing it would fire and run for half of a second and then that was it if anything at all. Had the security system rebooted, now it starts and runs fine.

1997 chevy 2500 4x4 stumbles

Fuel pump is most likely the cause. Probably just barely making the required pressure to start. Needs to maintain 60-66 psi while cranking to start.
