Is it full of antifreeze? is your engine fan working? does it get hot with no cooling down? even when you turn engine off? with engine off!!!open hood, grab fan see if it has back and forth play,if so,,,fans bad or water pumps bad. some camaro's have an electric fan,you may only have a blown fan fuse,or a bad fan.check fan fuse 1st then if it does'nt work after you run the motor nad the temperature guage goes up, check the electrical connections, if you have a mechanical fan,you should be able to shake it, front to back, if there is play or wobble in the fan,it's bad! replace the fan and that will repair your problem. if not that, and it turns out to be electrical, fuses 1st connections next, thermostat next,,hope this helps, merry christmas, and as always please repost your question if your not happy with the solution i've supplied.

How to fix heater control valve on 2007 f150

This should fix the heater core problem as it sounds like you have airlocks. You will have to find the leak and fix it though.

Antifreeze leaking on inside passenger side of 1994 GMC suburban

It sounds like you probably have a leak in your heater core. Replacing a heater core can be a difficult job. If you decide want to try it I suggest you get a shop manual to help you out. I can give you a relatively easy temporary fix that will stop the leak until you have more time to fix it or you can take it into a shop to have it done. The down side is this fix will temporally disable your heater. Wait for the engine to cool. Open the engine compartment and look all the way in the back between the engine and the firewall. Find the 2 heater hoses that pass through the firewall. They should be about 1 inch in diameter. Undo the hose clamps and disconnect them from the firewall. Get a short piece of metal tubing about the thickness of the inner diameter of the hoses. Use this metal tubing to connect the heater hoses together and clamp them using the two hose clamps. Now the antifreeze that would normally circulate through your heater core will instead circulate through this loop and not enter the passenger compartment. If you can't find a short piece of metal tubing to do this fix you can completely remove one of the heater hoses. Then take the other heater hose and connect it to location near the engine where you disconnected the first hose. Save the first hose so you can hook it up later when you do the more permanent fix. Make sure to position all hoses such that they aren't resting on any hot surfaces. I hope this advice helps you out.

How to remove the heater core

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

How to fix heater core 1992 dodge spirit

Take my word for it, you don't want to fix it. Take it to your local radiator shop and have someone put a heater core in it for you. You will be way better off. I've done these before and it takes about 6- 8 hrs. The whole dash has to come out. The steering column has to be dropped. If I had one of those cars that needed a heater core, I would take it somewhere and have it done. Phil

Heater Coil Leak

Hey mad40bx that will be your heater core,,just pick up a new one and grab a haynes or chilton manual for your truck if you are not familiar with the procedure its not that bad, if you dont need it fixed immediately take the 2 hoses off from the firewall (One is supply and one return) and couple them together this will bypass the heater core until you are ready to fix it, good luck
