So check the fuses, it may be listed as an accessory outlet but their should be a diagram either on the fuse door or in your owners manual.

Get a multi-meter. Put it on ohms setting. Zero the setting by connecting the ends together, and turning the dial to set to zero. Now, in the fuse box, locate the cig. fuse, see owners manual, and touch the ends of the meter to the fuse. One end to one side, the other to the other side. If good, the meter will go to zero. If not. replace the fuse.

I have a 1991 gmc sonoma but the cigarette doesnt work can anyone tell me what fuse controls it

Easiest way to find out if its the fuse, is to look at the fuses with a flashlight and see if any of the links are broken. If there are any blown you'll see and you should replace the ones blown. That should tell you which one is connected to the CIG lighter. If you don't find any are blown then your CIG lighter connections behind the actual CIG lighter might be loose.

Depends whether you want the clock or the cig lighter try disconnecting the lighter and if the clock still works it is more than likely something in the lighter.they are inexspensive to replace.

Clock and dash lights dont work or radio--

These items clock, radio, dash lights are usually fused on the same circuit. Please check the fuses for this problem. The fuse or fuses should be listed on the fuse box cover inside the interior fuse box. Replace the blown fuse if that is that problem. If it blows again, then the cig lighter circuit may be involved. Make sure the cig lighter is free of any objects, remove lighter, (push in part). Try new fuse while lighter is out, and if problem goes away, push in may be bad.

The cig lighter stopped working, I use it to run the GPS

Check the lighter fuse, it is usually on it's own circuit and your owners manual should show which fuse it is. The adapter may also be bad for the GPS, see if the lighter will function and get hot.

Cig lighter works 4 cigs but wont charge satnav however much i twiddle about with it, help!!

Try checking the fuse inside the charger. Ths may be blown. Have you tried another charger in its place ex. cell phone or radar detector? If works for the cig lighter should charge.
