Tire Noise I have a 2006 Ford Fusion...and recently the ride has gotten noiser. It sounds like it's coming from the back tires...any ideas?

when driving does the hum come and go while turning ---jack up car and look at back of hub where c/v/ axle goes in and see if there is a leak or grease visible if yes change hub also with tire on try moving up and down and side to side feel for play

Sounds like it could be the CV joints, drive the car in reverse for a little and put steering on full lock, the noise will be a crunching sound coming from the front, if so then ist definitely the CV joint(constant velocity) joint, hope this helps

If you took the tire off and there is no evidence of major wear then you might have a steering knuckle bearing that's bad.They can also sound like the grinding and squealing like bad breaks.The steering knuckle is what everything is attached to.The bearing in the center of the steering knuckle for the axle shaft.

hi iv had a simular noise on a fusion i done and it was the water pump bearings making the noise the only way to solve this is to replace the pump ,

well sounds like the shocks are bad look's dont mean a thing they can look new and be bad at the same time.good luck hope i helped

NOTE: The tire pressure sensor training prcedure must be done in an area without radio frequency (RF) noise. RF noise is generated by electrical motor and appliance operation, cell phones, and remote transmitters.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position three times, ending in the RUN position. Do not wait more than two minutes between each key cycle.
3. Press and release the brake pedal
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

Sequence:
1- Left Front Tire
2- Right Front Tire
3- Right Rear Tire
4- Left Rear Tire

5. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position three times, ending in the RUN position. Do not wait for more than two minutes between each key cycle.
6. The horn will sound once and the TPMS indicator will flash if train mode has been entered successfully. If equipped, the message center displays "TRAIN LEFT FRONT TIRE." Place the magnet on the valve stem of the LF tire pressure sensor. The horn will sound briefly to indicate that the tire pressure sensor has been recognized by the TPMS module.
7.Within two minutes after the horn sounds, place the magnet on the valve stem of the RF tire pressure sensor. NOTE: If the TPMS module does not recognize any one of the four tire pressure sensors during the tire training procedure, the horn will sound twice and the message center (if equipped) will display "TIRE TRAINING MODE INCOMPLETE." If this occurs, the entire procedure must be repeated from Step 1.
8. Repeat Step 7 for the RR and LR tires. When the tire training procedure is complete, the horn will sound once and the message center (if equipped) will display TIRE TRAINING MODE COMPLETE.

This should help. For now, probably all Fords are like this. And I do not believe that Ford puts sensors in their spares (some GMs do).

if your looking for a really good inexpensive tire that will last you a while i will suggest the Hankook tires. i have owned them in sizes running from 38 12.50 15 to 225/75r15 they are a great tire and virtually no road noise at all. and they are actually very good priced as far as inexpensive.

You most likely have a bad wheel bearing. Jack the car up to the extent that the rear wheel is of the ground pull in and out on the top of the tire if you feel any free free play or loosness do not drive the vehicle untill you get it fixed. Check both sides as it can be dificult to determine wich side the noise is comeing from.

have the front brake checked it sounds like a warped rotor
