My 1995 montero failed emossion of oxides nitrogen 6.31

Taken from Smog tips:

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system is designed to reduce NO. The EGR system consists of an EGR valve, EGR pressure sensor, vacuum hoses, and one or more vacuum switching valves or solenoids. Later model vehicles may be equipped with electronically controlled EGR valves, which do not require vacuum lines or switching solenoids. Electronic EGR systems will have these components built in.

Changing the sensors should work.. also change the O2 sensor(s). I know in my 2002 there were 2 of them and they are not cheap.

How to clean a egr valve from a 2000 mitsubishi montero. I replace the egr valve, but still engine ligth code 403 still on.

Your new EGR valve (assuming it wasn't defective out of the box), is fine, but the car's computer just needs to have its code 403 cleared. Even though you've corrected the problem, the computer will still light the "Check Engine" light, and store code 403 until the code is cleared using an OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics 2) code scanner.
Note that the car will function perfectly with its new EGR valve, a lit "Check Engine" light and a code 403 stored. Its just a good idea to clear the code, so that then only NEW problems will become the reason that the "Check Engine" light gets lit.

make sure egr passage way from valve to intake not clogged and make sure exhaust to egr supply is present and make sure if valve is vacuum operated that senser is ok and vacuum supply correct if electial egr senser then intake probably clogged sense code 401 is insuffence egr flow
