2002 Chevy Venture - 76,000 kms - regularly serviced
From a stop or at low speed, there seems a transmission issue when applying sudden acceleration e.g. crossing a busy street from a side street by "flooring it." The engine revs up but there is a brief moment with no forward thrust, then a sudden engagement (not smooth ... more like a lurch). Likewise, if driving @ 15 kph, any slight acceleration results in a hesitation and lurch forwards.
There are no codes or indicator lights signalling a problem with the transmission, sensors, or module; and at speeds above 30 kph there is no hesitation or "lurch" between applying power and acceleration. My mechanic says there is no problem, but it feels like there is a weakness at low/no speed acceleration, and I don't wish to damage the transmission.
First thing, hopefully your mechanic checked, transmission fluid level. These are horrible for transmission issues and for intake gaskets! I owned a 98 and put way to much money into it. The egr valve had to do with exhaust gas recirculation, not applicable here. There is (or should be) a hose going from your intake manifold to your transmission that helps the trans shift at the right time. Find this hose and check for leaks. Had the transmission been serviced ever? Fluid and filter changed? Is either bring starved of fluids or vacuum, I'm leaning toward vacuum myself.
Tune up is the solution maybe a defective spark plug like what i did to my venture it solve my problem hope that this solution will help others...
Disconnect the egr valve and try it at low speed if you give some gas egr open to mush to mush air not enought gas create hesitation before changing the egr just disconnect it and try hope it FIXYA our problem thanks pierre
