Sounds like you've lost hydrolic pressure. Did you check the 2 hoses connecting to the power steering pump? I take it, you lost power steering fluid also right? If it was leaking badly, it was the high pressure line that blew, if not, it was the return line. You can have a hose made for you for pretty cheap to replace the hose.

I have a toyota 1996 camry and I notice that it is very hard to steer and turn the steering wheels. i also notice that there was little or no power steering fluid in the container.

SR you just found the problem a leak in the power steering system, check the floor were you park the car every day, there steering fluid by the driver side the problem is the steering rack, there is fluid by the engine passenger side, pressure line, banjo fitting, return line, and also steering rack, the best thing to do is clean the oily area, refill reservoir drive it and check for a fresh leak.

Steering hard to turn to the left like power steering is out but turns ok to the right. Checked power steering fluid. It is OK

bad steering problems,,your steering rack most likely, but, have you recently been stuck in ditch? when wheels are straight, look at front of car when parked. do wheels look funny? one going one way, and the other going the other? may be alignment. is it leaking any fluid on either side of the front of the car? drivers side? passenger side? if it's not out of alignment,,,wheels out of alignment,,the steering rack is the problem. it may be faulty. if not leaking fluid,it may still be bad. first i would make a visual test look under the vehicle while someone turned the steering wheel to right and left while car is in park, emergency brake on!! look at the steering arms while they turn the steering wheel from right to left. no fluid leaks? any resistance in turning the wheel? any leaks,if so,go to leak and repair with steering line replacement.no leaks? suspect a bad steering rack. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com i love to volunteer

2006 2 wd grand vitara. I went to the store and when i came out i tried to reverse my suv but the steering wheel hardly turns and the suv makes a screeching noise. The wheels refuse to turn. I can drive...

the belt will make a screeching noise for the power steering if it is loose or worn out. check out the belt, or the power steering pump front bearings failed and will not let steering pump to spin. have a good day !!

Where is the fuel filter located on my 2004 Chevy Trail Blazer? WE

On 05+ Trail Blazer, the fuel filter is integral with the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank. It is a non-serviceable part. On 02-04s, the filter is on the drivers side frame rail at about the B-pillar. If your trail Blazer is a late 04 which means that it was build close to the 05 Trail Blazer, you may have a non serviceable fuel filter. Good luck and check under your Trail Blazer or look at your manufactured date sticker on the door which would help you indicate if your 04 is a early Trail Blazer and you'll have the fuel filter on the inside frame rail under the driver's door.

2004 Jeep Liberty Power Steering Quit Working

I would check for leaks. After the car sits overnight look undernieth the cor on the drivers side. You are most likely going to see a tiny puddle of very thin oil. Check the tubing connections at the pump (mounted to the engine on the drivers side) and the front axel. Be certain to use Mopar power steering fluid when topping off. You may also need to get any air out of the system. Jack up the car so that both wheels are off the ground. With the engine turned off, turn the wheels to left and right lock positions a couple times. Lower the car, top off the fluid if necessary & give it a drive. Hope that works for ya.
