If you got the motor to run, then whatever feeds that motor electricity is the culprit. Check the switch.

Before removing the heater switch on this 2006 citroen hdi I would first have the blower motor checked and the most common reason for this and other blower problems would be the blower resistor.

Your blower works on and off at times, first locate the blower motor and the resistor. the blower motor is located on the heater box, look under the pass/side of the dash, you may have to remove under dash cover to see blower.
When you have located the blower now look to the side on the heater box, there you will see a connector plug, it plugs into a connection on the heater box, this will be the resistor, the resistor slides into heater box and the end of it bolts to box to hold it in place and then the connector plugs into it, if you can not locate it then follow wires that plug into blower , follow wires back they will lead you to resistor,
next time blower does not work wiggle connector to resistor and see if blower turns on, if it does then resistor is the problem. also unplug resistor plug at resistor and check for any burning of connectors at plug and inside resistor.

I would bet its a bad resistor or the plug is brunt due to high draw from bad connections, if plug has burn damage to connectors then replace the plug along with resistor.

REPLACE THERMOSTAT.IF ALREADY DONE.CHECK HEATER BLOWER MOTOR SEE IF POWER GOING TO HEATER BLOWER MOTOR.IF YES BLOWER MOTOR BAD.IF NO POWER GOING TO BLOWER MOTOR CHECK AC AND HEATER CONTROL FUSE AND CHECK BLOWER MOTOR FUSE AND RELAY IF ALL IS GOOD CHECK SEE IF POWER GOING TO AC AND HEATER CONTROL SWITCH IF YES THE AC AND HEATER CONTROL SWITCH COULD BE BAD.

CHECK SEE IF HEATER BLOWER MOTOR WORKING, REMOVE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR HOT WIRE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR SEE IF BLOWER MOTOR WORKING BLOWER MOTOR FAULTY OR YOU HAVE FAULTY WIRING AT BLOWER MOTOR AND RESISTOR.

Removal

1. Remove the glove compartment liner to gain access to the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly mounting screws.
   

1. Use a small screwdriver to remove clip retaining hydraulic damper strut.
   

1. Remove four screws and remove the heater blower motor assembly and blower motor wheel assembly from the heater blower motor housing.
   

Installation

1. Using a new seal, position the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly to the heater blower motor housing with the flat side of the flange near the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591). Install the four retaining screws.
   

1. Tape the heater blower motor power lead to the air inlet duct to keep the wire away from the blower outlet during installation.
   

1. Install the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly in the vehicle.
   

1. Install the glove compartment liner.
   

fuse blows. unplug heater blower motor turn ignition on, turn heater on, does fuse blow? if not need to replace heater blower motor

look in passenger foot well on blower case for 4 wire connector.

• Open fuse.
• Tripped circuit breaker.
• Circuitry open/shorted.
• Heater blower motor switch (18578).
• Heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
• Blower motor relay.
• Blower motor.

it's either the blower motor switch or blower motor resister. Resistor ?Heater Blower Motor Switch Removal Remove the battery (10655) ; refer to Section 414-01 . Remove the battery tray. Remove the screws. Remove the battery tray. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch resistor connector. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591). Remove the two screws. Remove the heater blower motor switch resistor. ----------------------------------- Switches Removal Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove the center trim panel; refer to Section 501-12 . Remove the control assembly. Remove the screws. Remove the control assembly. Remove the A/C-heater function selector switch knob. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector. Disconnect the A/C-heater function selector switch connector. Remove the A/C-heater function selector switch. Remove the screw. Remove the A/C-heater function selector switch. Remove the temperature control switch knob. Disconnect the temperature control switch connector. Remove the temperature control switch. Remove the screw. Remove the temperature control switch. Remove the heater blower motor switch knob. Disconnect the heater blower motor switch connector. Remove the heater blower motor switch (18578). Remove the screw.
