See if there is a relay for the tail lights/brake lights. I would go ahead and install new bulbs. Make sure that you get the correct bulbs. Not many vehicles still use the old 1157's.

All the lights on my 1999 Chevy Suburban C1500 work, except the BRAKE lights. I changed all the bulbs and checked the fuses, but I still have no brake light. Please help.

Change the brake light switch right above the brake paddle should be about 21.99 at most auto parts, pulls out and has a pigtale plug a DYI.

99 Chevy Tahoe... Rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazards

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

No brake lights on 95 Suburban

Bad or borken wire harness in the steering coloum. check power to brake switch, should have power on one side, if not check the fuse if fuse is good and you have no power then your turn signal switch or harness is bad.
