I have a 95 gmc suburban that keeps blowing the fuse when break is aplied i even disconected the back lights and it does the same what could it be
I have a 1999 gmc suburban and it waz doing same thing. I changed out the plastic socket plate and had to wiggle the new connectors into working but after a few tries it worked and is still working today 1 year or more later.
Is it the rite amp fuse ? check the bulb sockets in back & third lite if has one . socket may be corrored .if have ohm meter bulb out have some one step on brakes & see whet volts you have at socket .check at brake pedal brake switch no wire is crimp .& it work rite

It sounds like you have a hot wire touching the body. Check & trace the brake hot wires from the rear lights back to the fuse block using a multimeter. Check for continuity between the hot and the body When you find it that wire needs repairing or replacing. It's probably somewhere that the wire has been rubbing against the body for sometime.
